Tulipa tulipae 2018

The exhibition Tulipa tulipae at Real Jardin Botanico de Madrid is now open until May the 20th.

Organized by the Royal Botanical Garden (RJB-CSIC) in the Villanueva Pavilion, the exhibition shows a historical journey through the techniques of printing and drawing with images from the RJB Archive and Library to conduct us, through the botany of the tulip , to the wonderful illustrations of fifty or so botanical artists from The Society of Botanical Artists.
This exhibition is completed with a wide variety of tulips (about 21,000 bulbs) that have been planted at the entrance of the Botanical Garden, in the Terrace of Paintings, to complete a mosaic of colours and make this magnificent event a living experience with the start of spring.
Designed for all audiences, Tulipa, tulipae – The Illustrated Tulip will offer during these two months educational and outreach activities, including workshops, guided tours and live demonstrations.
