In Ruskin’s Footsteps
The Botanical Art Worldwide exhibition for England and Wales opened on the 18th of May. It is showing now until June the 9th at the Peter Scott Gallery, Lancaster University. There are forty beautiful paintings depicting our native flora, including two by our new president Billy Showell. Exhibiting SBA members are Roger Reynolds, Polly O’Leary, Margaret Fitzpatrick, Julia Trickey, Gaynor Dickeson, Ann Swan, Claire Kathleen Ward, Pamela Taylor, Christina Hart Davies, and Anne Girling. Botanical Art Worldwide Day
Botanical Art Worldwide day, May the 18th, draws closer and more and more events unfold across the globe. There will be national exhibitions simultaneously on view at many cultural institutions in 25 countries on six continents as part of this collaborative initiative of botanical art organizations. Each exhibition will feature original contemporary artwork of its country’s native plants portrayed by resident artists. To see the countries involved click on the link to see a slideshow:
