Ellas Ilustran Botánica

An exciting exhibition of botanical art, Ellas Ilustran Botánica, opens on February 11th at La Casa de las Ciencias de Logroño, Spain. The exhibition presents the work of 50 female botanical illustrators from the 16th century to the present, revealing the relationships between art, science, and gender. More than 200 reproductions of botanical works in different formats, such as drawings, engravings, photographs, sculptures, paintings, and books, highlight the contribution of women in both the scientific and artistic fields. Flora of South East Asia

Called Flora of South East Asia, the exhibition is open to artists worldwide, as long as they join one of the four participating societies. The subject is any flora native to South East Asia (including fungi, lichen, and algae). Original artwork will be displayed at the new Botanical Art Gallery at Singapore Botanic Gardens, an amazing venue housed in the conserved and totally refurbished Gallop House, which was built in 1906.  This is Singapore’s first permanent display gallery for botanical art. ReflectionS – No Plants, No Planet

ReflectionS Show– No Plants, No Planet. ABBA has an online exhibition on from 16th October-to 27th March 2022, which features the work of many SBA Fellows. In November 2021 COP26 ( United Nations – Climate Change Conference ) in Glasgow Scotland, will bring together the nations of the world for one of the most important international meetings for the future of our planet. Inspired by COP26, ABBA launched their major exhibition for 2021, ReflectionS – No Plants, No Planet, which focuses on the crucial role that plants play in the health of our planet.

UK Coloured Pencil Society

The UK Coloured Pencil Society 20th Anniversary Gala Exhibition in London is from the 14th October to the 21st October at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf. Four SBA Fellows have work in the show – Amber Halsall, Janie Pirie, Ann Swan, and Lesley Hall.
