The RHS Plant Review 2024

We’re thrilled to announce that our talented foundation member, Caroline Buckley, is the winner of the inaugural The Plant Review artist-in-residence competition! The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) was looking for an artist to grace the pages of their magazines with stunning plant illustrations, and Caroline’s submission, a captivating portrayal of late summer flowers, stood out among the entries. “We ran a competition to find an artist in residence to create beautiful illustrations for our RHS magazine aimed at plant fanatics,” announced the RHS. And guess what? Caroline be the featured illustrator for the frontispiece in all four issues of The Plant Review in 2024, and her winning artwork will grace the pages of the December issues of both The Plant Review and The Garden magazine.… Read more

The Plant Review competition

 The Plant Review, the RHS’s quarterly publication devoted to garden plants, has issued a call-out to botanical artists as the search begins for its first annual artist in residence. The prize of £1,000 and the chance to illustrate the frontispiece of all four issues of the magazine in 2024 will be awarded to the winner of a competition that was launched at the RHS Botanical Art and Photography Show in June. Open to amateurs and professionals alike, entries will be assessed by a panel of judges from the worlds of publishing and botanical art who will be looking for submissions showing not only botanical accuracy but something of a plant’s character. Young Botanical Artist Competition

The Shirley Sherwood Collection has set up a Young Botanical Artist competition. There are still a few months left until the deadline of 30 April 2023. ⁠ The theme is trees and the top prize is the chance to win up to £750 and have your work exhibited at the Shirley Sherwood Gallery in Kew Gardens from September. Jacksons Art prize 2023

The Jacksons Art competition is now open for submissions. With an impressive expert judging panel, two London exhibitions, a first prize of £6000 + £1000 Jackson’s art materials, plus 15 other awards – one of which is botanical. Jacksons Paintings Prize 2022

Jackson’s Art Supplies have announced the launch of the seventh international Jackson’s Painting Prize 2022. You can now submit entries into the painting categories and there is one for botanical art. There are some great prizes and the Press Release can be viewed here. Submissions close on the 1st of March so there’s plenty of time to plan.
