A new book is soon to be released in October by Prestel Publishing. The book features over 250 reproductions of Mary Vaux Walcott’s botanical watercolours. Mary (1860-1940) was an American artist and naturalist, who has been called the “Audubon of Botany.” Overlooked whilst she was alive, Wild Flowers of North America is a much-needed testament to the dedication and talent of Walcott and our hope is that it will inspire a whole new generation of botanical illustrators!
