Opposite Ends Exhibition

Opposite Ends, a wonderful exhibition with Christina Hart-Davies SBAF and Jo Elswood is on soon in Romsey, Hampshire.

Back again with work celebrating the natural world from opposite ends of the artistic spectrum are award-winning botanical artist Christina Hart-Davies with stunningly realistic watercolours, and renowned mixed-media artist Jo Elswood with intriguing, evocative abstracts. Both artists explore the natural world, each responding in a different way. Christina, a Founder Member of the SBA, uses watercolour to capture the finest details of a wide range of botanical subjects, while Jo works with layers of paints, papers and fabrics to echo nature’s colours and textures.

Pittenweem Arts Festival

SBA Fellow Marianne Hazlewood has an exciting summer ahead! If you are planning a trip to Scotland, these exhibitions are worth checking out! She will be exhibiting her work at the , which has been running since 1982. Pittenweem is tucked away on the Fife coast and has been a festival hub for artists each August, attracting visitors year after year. As well as showing in galleries, artists show in fishermens’ cottages, basements, fishing sheds… wherever there is an available space! Here, Time of Flowers exhibition

We are delighted to announce that SBA Fellow member Sora Han will be presenting her beautiful botanical artwork in her solo exhibition “Here, Time of Flowers”. Sora describes it as a collection that reflects the quiet brilliance of flowers, embracing both their blossoming and fading moments. De Jager Catalogue

Congratulations to our talented Fellow member, Sarah Gardner, who had the opportunity to design the cover for de Jager Bulbs Spring Retail Catalogue, following her graduation from the Distance Learning Diploma Course last year. Sarah personally cultivated the stunning Begonias featured in the catalogue right in her own garden, thanks to the tubers supplied by de Jager. Studying these plants up close allowed her to capture their breathtaking colours and textures. As a newcomer to commercial botanical work, Sarah expresses her deep gratitude to the SBA and de Jager Bulbs for this incredible opportunity to gain valuable experience in the world of botanical art.
