Janie Pirie

Janie Pirie Sba Fellow has a solo show coming up in Suffolk. Here she tells us how it came about. “Whilst exhibiting in Aldeburgh in July I was approached by a lovely couple who own a gallery and jewellers in Lavenham, Suffolk.  (Probably one of the most famous and picturesque villages in our area and a tourist hot-spot.)  They asked if I would show my work in their new showrooms. It opens next Friday, 24th September and below is the invitation they have sent out.  I will be exhibiting the remaining roses from the rose book, together with a few very new pieces that have not been seen before.”

Janie also has two pieces in the upcoming 20th Gala Exhibition of the UK Coloured Pencil Society from 14th – 24th October at The Bargehouse, Oxo Tower, London. She goes on to say “I will also be holding a workshop there on Saturday 23rd October, showing how to use coloured pencils on drafting film.  The work produced by CP artists across the UK, and indeed the world, is breathtaking, and can certainly hold its own when compared with watercolour!  The exhibition will be worth a visit.”
