Ellen Exhibition

A fascinating exhibition celebrating Irish botanist, Ellen Hutchins, is currently on at the Library Reading Room at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London.

Ellen’s story reveals how important botanical illustration was (and still is) to botanists, and the significant part that her correspondence played in botany in the nineteenth century. Discover the legacy that she left from her short life told through her beautiful drawings of seaweeds, letters, and plant finds in botanical books of the early 1800s.

The exhibition has been extended until 22nd November, it is free and open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm.
