Celebrating Nature at Weston Park

The Birmingham Society of Botanical artists has a show on at the moment in Weston Park.

Overall, in this exhibition, we aim to show the breadth and awe of the natural world through the ancient art of portraying plants. This began (and continues today) for medicinal and scientific purposes but also to showcase the beauty that nature brings to our lives. Pictures allow us to study these wonders and share them, so is a way of bringing nature more to our attention and into our homes.

The event is on at Weston Park, Nr Shifnal, Shropshire, TF11 8LE.

The Granary Art Gallery is open daily 11am – 4pm and is free to enter.

A stamp for Monaco

Congratulations to SBA Fellow Florence Gendre who has designed a postage stamp for Monaco! Florence is a superb artist and her social media pages are filled with exquisite illustrations, but this is definitely one of our favourites!! Ellas Ilustran Botanica

Ellas Ilustran Botánica will be exhibited at the RJB-CSIC Madrid Royal Gardens in February 2024. Flora of Southeast Asia

The artists have now been chosen for the Flora of Southeast Asia exhibition organised by the Botanical Art Society of Singapore. It will be at the Singapore Botanical Gardens starting in November this year and open over winter. There are a few Fellow artists from the SBA that have been chosen including Deborah Montgomerie, Henny Herawati, Icka Gavrilla, and Sunanda Verma Widel. There are a few DLDC graduates also including Waiwai Hove, and Angelina Cheong. Congratulations to all, it looks like it will be a wonderful show.
