Called Flora of South East Asia, the exhibition is open to artists worldwide, as long as they join one of the four participating societies. The subject is any flora native to South East Asia (including fungi, lichen, and algae). Original artwork will be displayed at the new Botanical Art Gallery at Singapore Botanic Gardens, an amazing venue housed in the conserved and totally refurbished Gallop House, which was built in 1906. ReflectionS Show– No Plants, No Planet. ABBA has an online exhibition on from 16th October-to 27th March 2022, which features the work of many SBA Fellows. In November 2021 COP26 ( United Nations – Climate Change Conference ) in Glasgow Scotland, will bring together the nations of the world for one of the most important international meetings for the future of our planet. Inspired by COP26, ABBA launched their major exhibition for 2021, ReflectionS – No Plants, No Planet, which focuses on the crucial role that plants play in the health of our planet.
The UK Coloured Pencil Society 20th Anniversary Gala Exhibition in London is from the 14th October to the 21st October at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf. Four SBA Fellows have work in the show – Amber Halsall, Janie Pirie, Ann Swan, and Lesley Hall. Lockdown through the eyes of a Botanical Artist “We’re back !! Not only are Iceni Botanical Artists back in Bury St. Edmunds, but we are also back with a live exhibition on 16-22nd October 2021 in The Guildhall. Just like all art groups throughout the past eighteen months, IBA members have been kept apart by Covid19 restrictions. However, artists everywhere are fortunate and often thrive in solitude and peace and quiet in order to allow the creative juices to flow. Botanical artists have been even more fortunate, as they depend upon the natural world for their inspiration. Janie Pirie Sba Fellow has a solo show coming up in Suffolk. Here she tells us how it came about. “Whilst exhibiting in Aldeburgh in July I was approached by a lovely couple who own a gallery and jewellers in Lavenham, Suffolk. (Probably one of the most famous and picturesque villages in our area and a tourist hot-spot.) They asked if I would show my work in their new showrooms. It opens next Friday, 24th September and below is the invitation they have sent out.
