Tammy has had a life long love affair with painting and gardening. She can always be found in one of two places, her studio or her garden. Being an avid gardener since childhood has strongly influenced her art. Spending countless hours amongst the flora studying their habitat, morphology and growth patterns has helped form the basis of her work. After a successful career in floral design in Manhattan and New Jersey on a whim she took an introduction to botanical drawing class at the New York Botanical Garden marrying her two loves, horticulture and drawing.
She received her degree in painting with a minor in art history from Montclair State University. Tammy earned a certificate with honours in botanical art and illustration at the New York Botanical Garden in 2017. Her work has been shown the 18th Annual Filoli Exhibition, the 19th through 23rd ASBA Annual Internationals receiving Honorable Mention for her pieces in the 20th through 22nd shows. In 2018 she received an Award of Excellence at the NJAA exhibit. Her paintings are in private collections across the United States. She is a Society of Botanical Artists Fellow. She is also a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Tri-State Botanical Artists of NYBG and the Coloured Pencil Society of America.
