Biography

Art has always been a big part of my life in many forms. In 2006 I joined a local Art class after leaving teaching in Adult Education.
I experimented with different mediums, styles, techniques and subject matter. Having had a long affinity with flowers and gardening I found myself gravitating towards painting botanical style flowers in large scale, predominantly in watercolour.

As my interest and passion in Botanical Art grew, I attended a number of courses wanting to learn more.
Where ever possible I like to paint flowers from our garden, enjoying their beauty at various stages, I now paint mainly in watercolour or pastel.

I am a fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists and have exhibited at the SBA Plantae. Since 2012 I have exhibited regularly at the Art Fair, Macclesfield, and other various venues. One of my paintings is featured in Helen Birch’s latest book ‘Just Draw Botanicals’.
