Lynne Buckler

I studied Graphic Design and enjoyed a career in both design and lecturing. I am now enjoying the privileged position of being able to concentrate on my art full-time.

I work predominantly in a botanical style, but not exclusively. I also experiment with print, letterpress and mixed media. Observational drawing underpins and informs most of what I do, from a rapid figure drawing to time intensive botanical studies.

I have always been drawn to pattern and structure and prefer to concentrate on the gnarled shapes of plants as they enter their seed cycle and linear skeletal forms. I favour graphite & ink when I want to highlight form and watercolour when the melodies of colour are the strongest appeal for me.

I have been delighted to receive a Highly Commended for The Joyce Cuming Presentation Award and a Silver Gilt medal from RHS.
