Biography
Lisa was fascinated in painting as a child, and developed her fine detailed style throughout subsequent years. She has always had a love of flowers and nature, appreciating the individuality, beauty and intricacy, before capturing it in her fine detailed paintings.
Lisa lives in a village in East Sussex, and found inspiration for her botanical paintings in the lovely village gardens and beautiful surrounding countryside.
Lisa is an experienced calligrapher and has used this skill when designing, painting and writing wedding invitations.
Lisa’s subjects usually incorporate flowers, fruit, seeds or vegetables, working on both hot pressed paper and vellum.
Lisa completed the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma with distinction, receiving an award for attaining the highest marks for her three pieces.
Lisa’s painting for her mixed study assignment was used by the SBA for the cover of their Bockingford HP paper for the students on course 17, and her painting of a string of French onions is displayed on the SBA Distance Learning website.
Lisa has completed many exhibitions, including Florum Sevenoaks, Nymans Haywards Heath, The Cube Gallery Brighton, The Mall Galleries London and Lewes Artwave.
Lisa’s painting of miniature narcissi was commissioned by de Jager Flower Bulb Specialists for their 2020 Spring catalogue cover, and was very well received.
