Biography

“I am a self taught jeweller, fascinated by design challenges and have committed myself to creative pursuits throughout my life. During the 80’s – 90’s I built a successful clothing business based on hand embroidery and smocking and have pieces in the Victoria & Albert Museum. Currently I divide my time between my jewellery business and MD to a high-end condiment company Ouse Valley Foods, I also write and publish under ww.hareandheronpress.

I work with precious metals, using gemstones to highlight details and unusual textures and patterns to create effect. Unique forms vary from abstract to realistic, as well as highly detailed pieces featuring leaves, animals and seashore finds.
There is an element of narrative and humour that often accompanies my work. Each piece is individually made using traditional techniques with a bit of spontaneous experimentation thrown in. It is in the difficulty and challenge that I find the greatest reward and an irresistible drive to push myself to another level.

I exhibited my work  at distinguished shows and sell through creative outlets and galleries in the United Kingdom. I live and work in the beautiful town of Lewes in East Sussex. “
