Janet has always enjoyed nature but more recently has been able to devote time to study and develop the skills of a botanical artist with the help of the Society of Botanical Artists, graduating with a distinction in 2013.
Janet enjoys experimenting with different artists pigments and supports in the quest to capture the beauty of nature. There are endless possibilities and styles to explore. Whilst visiting many gardens around the country she inevitably finds plants which inspire. The challenge then begins and cannot be pushed aside until she feels she has captured that moment of wonder on paper.
Janet gained a teaching qualification to teach in college and has experience of running short courses. She has demonstrated and taught the techniques of botanical art at venues in the Essex/London area. She also has an interest in wildlife and has exhibited locally, receiving commissions for her bird paintings. She has exhibited at the annual exhibition of the SBA since graduating and is now working towards her first solo exhibition of botanical work.
