Biography

As a botanical artist Jane has a fascination for the accuracy of detail that she achieves with watercolour. Her paintings take between 50 – 100 hours to complete and contain the minutest details. She also has a lifelong interest in the historical importance of botanical art; particularly the time of great voyages of discovery and enlightenment in Europe.

A fully-qualified and experienced adult education teacher (over 20 years) Jane gives botanical watercolour painting and drawing courses. These courses are offered as day, weekend and painting holiday trips. She also gives illustrated lectures to clubs and societies including WIs, art clubs and gardening societies and demonstrates botanical painting techniques at exhibitions.
