Biography
Eunike Nugroho is a botanical artist and tutor based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. She passionately perseveres in botanical art since her encounter with botanical societies in the UK in 2012. She shares her passion with fellow Indonesians and teaches her techniques and method at her home studio and through workshops across the country, and recently the region. Encouraged by her students, she founded the Indonesian Society of Botanical Artists (www.idsba.com) in 2017.
She collaborates with various clients around the world to deliver botanical art to a wider audience. Some of her works were published as Canada Post’s 2018 Spring series stamps, book covers by Penguin Random House, Penguin Press, Harlequin, Rowohlt Verlag, articles illustrations by Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Technologist scientific magazine, National Geographic Indonesia, various promotion material of Shiseido, Avon USA, Codorníu, etc.
Her works exhibit in the UK, US, Bulgaria, Russia, Malaysia and several cities in Indonesia, including in the recent Indonesian Contemporary Fine Arts Biennale Exhibition by The National Gallery of Indonesia and the Southeast Asia Watercolor Exhibition 2020 at The National Art Gallery – Malaysia. Her orchid painting is in the permanent collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation.
