Connie Scanlon

Connie Scanlon became interested in botanical art as a volunteer docent at the Minneapolis Institute of Art where she discovered the work of Maria Sibylla Merian. Her critical skills of observation while a cardiac intensive care nurse have been invaluable in her creation of contemporary botanical art.

Her work has been included in the 2013 Royal Horticultural Society Exhibition, the Hunt Institute’s 15th International Exhibition for Botanical Documentation, and in many ASBA Annual International Juried Exhibitions.  She received the 2023 American Society of Botanical Artists Diane Bouchier Award for Botanical Excellence.
She lives and paints in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
