Biography
Drawing and painting have always been my passion and I have been fortunate enough to pursue my interest in art throughout my life.
I studied textile design at Loughborough College of Art then became an art teacher working in schools in Leicester and Birmingham. Retirement gave me the opportunity to combine my passion for art with my love of the natural world, especially of plants and flowers. My botanical art is predominately in coloured pencil, an exciting medium which I have found suits me and the varied subjects which inspire my work. I am a member of several art groups and find the interaction with other artists important to my personal development as a botanical artist.
I have exhibited my work in local exhibitions in Solihull, Birmingham, the West Midlands, and Nottingham as well as nationally with the Society of Botanical Artists.
