Biography

Although I could always draw, I began Botanic Drawing rather late in life, because clay had called me and I became a potter, not an artist. That is, as well as being a full-time Primary School Teacher!
I was introduced to Ann Swan, an established Botanic Artist who worked with coloured pencils and who took classes twice a year at Dedham Hall close to where I live. Ann taught me all I know and encouraged me to attempt membership of the SBA, then also to start teaching others as well.
My work is executed using Faber Castel Polychromos  and Prismacolor pencilsand I use chiefly Fabriano Classico HP paper at 140 mg weight.

I do not consider myself a professional, but just enjoy the process of creating a pleasing picture. I sell my work through various local Exhibitions and I have an Open Day once a year in the church where I am a chorister. I also have cards and Notelets printed. Some cards and the Notelets I sell in hand-made presentation packs for special gifts.
