Biography
Betsy has worked in a variety of artistic mediums, exploring watercolour, oil, acrylic and fiber. Ultimately, she decided to focus her work on coloured pencil. Betsy draws inspiration from the shoreline of Connecticut and the many gardens and farms in the New England area. Betsy completed SBA Distance Course 10 in 2015, graduating with Distinction. She was also awarded the Burggraaff Memorial Award for achievement on the course.
Most recently Betsy was awarded BEST IN SHOW out of over 200 juried artists at the Mystic Outdoor Arts Festival, Mystic Connecticut. Betsy works as a full-time artist from her studio in Mystic, Connecticut creating botanical illustrations as designs for her line of wholesale gift items. She sells botanical and nautical inspired products to gift shops throughout New England. She also teaches online classes in drawing and coloured pencil through the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History in New Haven Connecticut.

I hope to reconnect the viewers of my artwork with the simple things we come across everyday, but that we often overlook.”
