Anna Suprunenko was born in Russia. Now she lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Plants and nature have always been her inspiration. She has been interested in botanical art since 2014. She was happy to learn the basics of botanical art for two years with her mentor, Alexander Vyazmensky, in his workshops in the Botanical Garden of Saint Petersburg.
By drawing her favourite plants, she tries to convey their natural shape, texture, and colour shades as accurately as possible. Through her botanical works, she helps people to feel and appreciate how beautiful and diverse the kingdom of plants is.
She received the Jurors’ Award at the Botanical Art Worldwide Exhibition “Flora Russia”, and the Certificate of Botanical Merit at the SBA Plantae 2019. She also took part in the RHS Botanical Art and Photography Show 2019 within the group of Russian Botanical Artists and received the Gold Medal.
