Biography

My career as a Botanical Artist started in 2006 at West Dean College on a long weekend course with Susanna Stuart-Smith. Before that I had enrolled on many evening classes and workshops, trying all mediums; oils, pastel, charcoal and finally watercolour.

I am grateful for the excellent tutors over the years, who have taught me so much: Mariella Baldwin, Anne-Marie Evans, Jenny Jowett, Rosie Sanders, Marnie Ward and many others. Present tutors; Fiona Strickland & Robert McNeill.

Botanical Art has enabled me to combine my love of watercolour, painting, flowers and colour. I try to capture the beauty, character and essence of each plant.

2007 – Distance Learning Diploma Course with The Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) completed in 2009, passing with distinction 2009 – I moved to the island of Madeira and enjoyed the stunning variety of vibrant, exotic plants. 2014 – I was awarded Full Membership by The SBA . 2019 – I became a Member of The American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) 2020 – I moved to the beautiful island of Terceira in The Azores.
