Margaret Stevens PSBA
Biography
Margaret has been working as a freelance botanical artist, illustrator and tutor for over 20 years. She has received 13 medals from the RHS including the Gold and Silver Gilt Lindley medal for work of special educational interest.
She taught at various adult educational centres from 1986 to the present day, both in the UK and in Spain and also ran day classes for 18 years.
Margaret’s published work includes An Introduction to Drawing Flowers 1993, Arte y Botanica, co-edited with Marta Chirino SBA, published by the Banco de Madrid and The Art of Botanical Painting, 2004. A follow-up volume The Botanical Palette, written on behalf of the SBA will be published by Harper Collins in October 2007.
Her work has been reproduced by many leading publishers and she has been a contributor to the quarterly magazine This England for nearly 20 years.
She is President of the SBA and Course Director of the Distance Learning Diploma Course.
