Although she has always painted any subject in any medium which came to hand, flowers are her great love and speciality, and watercolour her favourite medium. A widely travelled childhood taught her an inquisitive interest in the differences of plant form. While early training in an engineering and architectural drawing office taught the necessary discipline of detailed care.
She has exhibited internationally and is a member of the Society of Botanical Artists, with whom she exhibits regularly in London, having been awarded a Certificates of Botanical Merit in 1999 and 2006
Penny is a Fellow of the Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society, and also paints for the Eden Project. Her work is represented in both archival and private collections. She teaches with Bromley Adult Education College and various other organisations.
