Marion started her career in Modern Languages, translating and later, teaching. She then studied drawing and painting, tutored by Ken Howard RA and learned Lithography at St Albans School of Art. Her work has been accepted by the Royal Academy for the Summer Exhibition.
Her love of flowers and gardening resulted in her being asked to design several gardens, her own garden being regularly open to the public for charity. She and her husband now live in a 19th century cottage orné beside the Thames, the restoration of which won the prestigious Chiltern Society's Award for the most empathetic and inspirational design.
Her interest in flowers led her to the study of Botanical Painting at the Chelsea Physic Garden, London. She became a member of the Society of Botanical Artists in 2001. In 2004 she won the Sennelier Watercolour Award and in 2006 she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a director of the SBA.
She has had many solo exhibitions in the Home Counties and is well known for her greetings cards. She is artist in residence for the National Trust at their Millennium Centre, teaching botanical and landscape painting.
