Biography

Jacqueline trained in Fine Art at Goldsmiths' College, graduating in 1969.  In 1977, she took up glass engraving in which she has been engaged since that time.  In 1998 she received the Diploma in Advanced Stained Glass at Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design. She is also a botanical painter, being elected a member of the Society of Botanical Artists in 1983. Her interest in engraving lettering onto glass led her to Roehampton Institute where she graduated with a Diploma in Calligraphy & Bookbinding in 1995.

Jacqueline has exhibited her studio and architectural glass and panels in a wide variety of contexts.  She is interested in integrating etching, painting and drawing into my work with glass, by working simultaneously on all artistic frontiers.  Her work is generally through commission, a modus operandi which she enjoys because of the challenge involved in fusing the client’s needs with the wider aesthetic imperative.

Jacqueline is currently engaged on a series of projects involving outdoor architectural glass work, integrating fused glass sculptures with welded metal structures whilst, at the same time, continuing to develop still further her smaller-scale studio-oriented engraved glass work.

Jacqueline is available for commissions for engraving to be executed either on glass blown to the customer’s specification, or on high-quality crystal blanks from, for example, Dartington or Orrefors.  She also works on architectural/sculptural glass, such as windows, or kiln-formed glass.
