Biography

Kate Nuttall was awarded a Distinction by the Society of Botanical Artists after completing the Distance Learning Diploma Course in 2007. In 2008 she was made a member of the Society, following the its annual Open Exhibition in April that year and has exhibited at each Open Exhibition since.

Kate has work in the collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. This work was included in the 13th Exhibition of the Institute, which toured the USA from September 2010.

As well as painting those subjects she feels personally drawn to, Kate undertakes private commissions on request.

Kate runs residential courses for adults at Knuston Hall in Northamptonshire. This is a restful and friendly place to learn and practise the skills of botanical watercolour painting, with plenty of one-to-one tuition given. Private courses for individuals or groups can also be arranged.
