Anna’s close-up botanical watercolours possess an immediacy and vitality that transcends tradition. Often painted at a large scale, they are a striking blend of sensuality and skilful composition, bringing a fresh perspective to this beautiful and timeless art form.
Anna is entirely self-taught. She enjoyed art as a child but it was only in 2006, at the age of 25, that she discovered an innate talent for botanical painting. Just 18 months later Anna won an RHS Gold Medal and Best in Show award. Since then her distinctive style has proved popular and her painting career has blossomed.
She has work in the RHS Lindley Library and Shirley Sherwood collections, has been commissioned by David Austin Roses and exhibits annually at the Chelsea Flower Show. She has also had work featured in Artists’ & Illustrators’ Magazine.
Anna teaches her unique watercolour technique at one-day workshops near her home in Surrey as well as at numerous other longer courses. The emphasis is on students relaxing and gaining confidence in their painting.
